17. International Information Technology and Journalism conference

The seventeenth International Information Technology and Journalism conference was held in Dubrovnik, Croatia at the Inter University Center from 28 May to 01 June 2012 and was organized by the Institute for New Media and E-democracy in partnership with DEL research network (http://www.certop.fr/DEL). It was supported by IPSA’s Research Committee 10 on Electronic democracy.
The IPSA Workshop on „New political communication and EU“ was held in the first part of the conference in Dubrovnik at the Inter University Center from 28 to 29 May 2012 and was organized by the Institute for New Media and E-Democracy in partnership with DEL research network (http://www.certop.fr/DEL). It is important to notice that third year in a row, Workshop was organised with a high support of R10, what sets it high in the map of the international scientific conferences.
The main topic of the conference was ” E-democracy – New Media and Public Sphere”. This topic seems to attract scientists who explore connections between this two fields.The discussion also rendered some new interesting topics concerning the relationship between public sphere and e-democracy.
The conference in Dubrovnik confirmed again, that Croatia have become inevitable in developing the field of political science. The hosting of well known and acknowledged scientists like Nenad Prelog, Damir Boras, Inoslav Bešker and many other domestic and foreign scientist on conference has undoubtedly made its contribution to the development of modern political science.
